FAQ
Protect Your Roof with Roof Rejuvenate of New Jersey
FAQ
1Who Is Roof Rejuvenate of NJ?
Two brothers-in-law, Paul and Frank, living in Southern Monmouth County, who strive to offer unequalled service, transparency, and value. The vehicle is Roof Rejuvenate with the mission being to be better than what we’re all unfortunately used to within the service industry.
2What is the product?
It is a 96% USDA bio-based soy oil, without any methyl ester or industrial grade solvents.
3How does it work?
It soaks in and penetrates deep within the core of each shingle, repairing the chemistry that breaks down over time. By restoring the asphalt base within the lower tab of each shingle, we ensure comprehensive rejuvenation that increases strength, flexibility, and resilience of the shingle.
4Is it Safe?
Yes, it is safe for people, pets and property.
5What are the weather requirements?
Temperature needs to be above 36 degrees, we typically opt for a 40 degree reading on the day of treatment. Rain is not a factor after about 60 minutes of completion, as the treatment is absorbed within that time.
6What if I have solar or I’m contemplating it?
Roof Rejuvenation finally provides an option to homeowners and solar companies alike. Providing piece of mind that you have a good foundation without worry of cracking and curling shingles after the fact, or needing to remove your solar panels due to a much costlier replacement.
7 Does treatment change the appearance of my roof?
Yes, the color of the shingles will darken, similar to when new. This will dissipate over time as the oil makes its way into the lower layers of the shingles. Over a longer period of time they will lighten up due to normal oxidative effects.
8What does the 5 year warranty cover?
The treated asphalt shingles will perform as originally designed and intended for a period of five years. This is valid regardless of original manufacturer warranty, which is why some roofs will not qualify if not in adequate condition for our service. It is not a warranty against leaks from improper roof installation, unknown damage or subsequent damage. However, if under “normal” conditions any treated shingles do not perform as advertised, we will retreat the area.
9What are the signs my roof shingles would benefit from Rejuvenation?
The over/under on shingle age where Roof Rejuvenate of NJ’s service can be important in our region begins at about 10 years. This will vary with shingle type, tree coverage, sun exposure, etc. It’s common to lose some granules from your shingles, however excessive loss of that top protective layer is indicative of an issue. Those granules function as a barrier to the sun’s damaging UV rays and the more you lose the more the shingle will deteriorate. Black algae staining and streaking, depending on context, is another sign of aging. As well, curling and cracking are more extreme signs of aging and at a certain point could be too far for us to be of any help. Remember, this can be a last minute savior but it can also be preventative maintenance……that’s up to you.
